POLAROIDS

Untitled Polaroids are a series I took in March-August 2020 for a zine I made. It’s an intimate series focussing on the people I was surrounded with during lockdown, and then once the restrictions eased I extended the series documenting my friends and family together again. This body of work is quite different to my other photos, as they aren’t staged and were all impromptu. Unable to organise shoots and locations due to Covid I had to adapt, and so I started carrying my polaroid camera with me wherever I went. Because I was documenting people I’m close to, my subjects were comfortable when being photographed which resulted in a range of vulnerabilities and subtleties that I wouldn’t have been able to capture in a studio shoot or more rigid environment.
